Frank Chimero: There is a Horse in the Apple Store →
There is a horse in the Apple Store and no one sees it but me. I think, “Why?” What is the villain here that blinds all of these people to this situation? Am I nuts for thinking this is exceptional? Does anyone else see this? Did I accidentally drop acid and not realize? I must take a photo….

SlingPlayer Redux
On May 12th of last year, I made a pretty scathing post against AT&T for not letting SlingPlayer stream over their 3G network. Well, it took just over 8 months, but AT&T has finally relented. Today, SlingPlayer for the iPhone updated to version 1.2, which allows streaming over 3G. That’s a step in the right direction.

IT @ AnandTech: The iPhone 3GS Hardware Exposed &... →
Although unannounced, the iPhone 3GS uses (again) a Samsung SoC but this time instead of the ARM11 + MBX-Lite combo it’s got a Cortex A8 and PowerVR SGX; just like the Pre. Seems like a solid analysis.

Select CD-ROM Boot Type : I spent two days trying to get around this error before finally coming up with a solution. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure what’s causing the problem....

Today, SlingPlayer for the iPhone was released—with one little caveat: “Slingbox, which would use large amounts of wireless network capacity, could create congestion and potentially prevent other customers from using the network. The application does not run on our 3G wireless network. Applications like this, which redirect a TV signal to a personal computer, are specifically prohibited under our...

Twitter Background Image
The maximum image size for a background on Twitter is 2048x1280. If you make the file any bigger, they’ll automatically scale it down (and covert it to a lossless PNG).

Easythumb Wrapper for BASH
I recently wrote a splash page for my website that emulates Mac OS X. When you click on a link in the dock, a little browser window displays a thumbnail. After some investigation of various thumbnailing options, I settled on bluga.net’s webthumb. Specifically his easythumb service. I wanted to pull in new thumbnails once per day, but I really didn’t want to deal with PHP, so I...
